Belfast Works Connect

Support

You will be assigned a Navigator who will provide personalised advice, support and motivation throughout you journey to  help you overcome challenges to your development. Navigators will work closely with you to provide targeted support, offering guidance on how to improve soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management.

Navigators will help facilitate connections with other organisations offering referral pathways to support your personal development journey.  Mentoring support will take place through one-to-one, group sessions, workshops and online based on your needs.

Training

The project will support to enhance your knowledge through offering a range of  training courses tailored to meet your specific needs. You can select from over 50 OCN accredited courses that provide experience and practical skills development. Navigators will offer a personalised career planning session  helping you identify your strengths, interests, and career aspirations

This training will enhance employability skills through individualised guidance and assessment, clients will develop career pathways.

Employment

Navigators will actively engage with local employers to create connections to job openings and opportunities suitable for you.

Navigators will provide you with practical work experience through job taster placements with local employers. These placements will provide valuable on-the-job training, enhance your CV’s, and increase your chances of securing permanent employment.

Navigators will develop job readiness skills through, CV writing, interview preparation, and job search techniques. You will receive guidance to improve their employability and increase their chances of success in job applications.

Belfast Works Connect is innovative employability project aimed at supporting individuals who face challenges to employment, and is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The project is delivered by an area-based partnership consisting of 5 charitable community organisations based throughout the Greater Belfast area.

The partnership is led by Upper Springfield Development Trust (West) and includes four delivery partners across distinct parts of Belfast:

  • East Belfast Mission (East)
  • GEMSNI (South)
  • Impact Training, Job Assist (Shankill)
